Everyone wants to have good posture. It makes people feel taller, slimmer, and more attractive. Not to mention the bad effects bad posture can have on your health.

If you’re already on a diet and working out to feel better about yourself, don’t miss taking care of your posture at the same time.

Here are 7 easy steps to improve posture:

#1: Keep your ears, shoulders, and hips aligned:

This is the posture you should aim for, whether sitting or standing. If you notice that you’re pushing your head forward, just fight it and make sure you are vertically aligned.

#2: When you are sitting:

Make sure that you sit on a chair that has a strong lumbar support. When you are sitting, your back, from the tailbone up until the upper back, should be touching the backrest. Also, make sure you have both your feet flat on the floor.

#3: Start moving:

If you have one of those jobs where you need to be sitting for many hours, you need to start moving. You probably already noticed that your muscles get tired if you spend the entire day in the same position. So, to rest you slouch.  So, take frequent breaks. Just a minute or so to stand up and walk a bit. It will make a big difference in your posture.

#4: Avoid those high-heels:

Yes, women look amazing in high-heels. And we’re not saying to stop using them. Just use them when you really have too. High-heels change the center of gravity of your body and prevent spinal alignment.

#5: Be aware of posture:

When you are trying to improve posture,  remind yourself about it constantly.  Place a note in the places you spend more time at during the day.  Buy a posture reminder device or a posture trainer that will buzz you when bad posture takes place.

#6: Picking something up from the floor:

When you drop something on the floor, your first reaction is to fold at the waist to pick it up. However,  bend your knees while keeping your spine straight to pick it up instead.

#7: Wear a posture brace:

A posture brace can help you maintain a good posture.   With so many different braces on the market, it is difficult to choose the best one.  We recommend the Bax-U and other posture correctors.   A good brace should allow you to maintain good posture and should be comfortable enough to perform all your daily tasks without problems.
